Zest, the prestigious restaurant located at the San Juan Water Beach Club in Isla Verde, recently renewed its cocktail menu offering ten brand new creations using the luxurious World Class Collection brands which include the premium vodkas Ketel One and Cîroc, Don Julio Blanco Tequila, Tanqueray No. Ten gin, Zacapa 23 rum, the Bourbon Whiskey Bulleit Frontier and the Johnie Walker Scotch Whiskies distributed by Méndez & Co. During the celebration, a select group of guests and media had the opportunity to experience an innovative culinary experience with a pairing of five appetizers and three cocktails chosen and crafted by Chef Raúl Correa and mixologist Iván Reyes.
As a welcome cocktail, guests were greeted with the Grapefruit Tonic, elaborated with Tanqueray No. Ten gin, grapefruit, and basil, the perfect drink for the summer heat. Next up was the refreshing and fruit packed Berry Smash, prepared with Johnnie Walker Black Label, cinammon, lime juice, berries and mint leaves. The drink was inspired by the Prohibition Era, a time when fruits ans herbs were used to hide alcohol during its transport and storage.
Among our favorite cocktails was the mixologist’s take on our traditional Piña Colada called My Piña Colada. He wowed the guests using Zacapa 23 rum and Cîroc Coconut vodka over a sphere of coconut milk and a textured foam finish. The cocktails Avocado Whiskey Sour, Berry Smash, Legacía (My Piña Colada), Grapefruit Tonic, French Lady, Whiskey Lemonade, Banana Royale, Tamatini, Guavagroni and Apollo were specifically designed using a combination of creativity and artistry in order to satisfy every type of palate and following the latest tendencies in cocktail making.
